surveyDescriptionState of Vermont, Windsor County - Be it remembered that at Hartland on the 17th day of June 1837 we the Selectmen of Hartland surveryed and opened a road in said Hartland described as follows: Survey of a road 3 rods in width and surveyed in the center beginning at a stake on the West side of the road which runs from Three Corners to the North village and 4 rods North from the Northeast corner of the burying ground, which is North of Joseph Livermore thence North 2 deg. East, 37.5 rods to a pine stump - thence North 5 deg. East 21 rods on D. H. Sumners land - thence North 5 deg. East 27 rods thence north 4 deg. W. 8 rods on to a bridge thence North 18 deg (?) east 5 rods to an Apple tree, thence North 58 deg East 10 rods to the old turnpike road and on land of Thomas Rogers, thence North 40 deg. East 26 rods thence North 48 deg. East 16 rods, thence North 40 deg. East 38 rods to the junction of the two roads south of Aron Crandells - the three last points are in the old road. We have discontinued and set over the old road through David H. Sumners land to him the said Sumner and have allowed the said Sumner five dollars as damages for laying said road through his land. ..and through Thomas Rogers land we have set over the old road to him the said Thomas Rogers and said road is laid three rods in width surveyed in the center . We have since the survey varied the same at the bridge across the gulf (?) for the convenience of making the same about 3 rods to the East of the above survey.
